In order to give you some idea about how I work and what my notion of quality is, I will list some general features of my bears in the following.
I realize my own designs and patterns which are unconventional sometimes, I have to admit. I use these patterns only once, so each teddy bear has its own unique pattern. Consequently I only make one-of-a-kind bruins.
I sew my teddy bears carefully stitch by stitch by hand. Mostly I use German mohair fabric (or alpaca). Furthermore I employ black glass eyes for each bruin. So ALL my bears are NOT safe for children and babies, since parts may be swallowed!
My character bears have only got one toe and thus only one claw. Most of them have hands with 3 Fingers and claws, too. The claws are stitched in a special way, so that they are strong, thick and 3-dimensional like real claws.
I take great care in stitching the noses properly. The noses are usually waxed.
More details about a bearsonality can be found in the description of its category (indicated by the pins). But sometimes a teddy deviates from its category. These special features are mentioned in the bruin´s individual text.
The bears of the category "black pin" ( ) are stuffed quite firmly with sheeps wool and filled partly with non-toxic steel pellets (or sometimes other pellets). They have got 7 or more cotter pin joints, so that they are able to twist their hands, too.
The category "red pin" ( ) indicates that the teddy is stuffed less firmly with sheeps wool. Here I use to do without any granules. These bruins have only got 5 cotter pin joints.
The "yellow pin" category ( ) tells you that the teddybear is stuffed quite firmly with synthetical upholstery. The belly and feet contain non-toxic steel pellets. For jointing I used 5 cotter pin joints for each teddy. These bears are all very early creations!!!
My felted bruins ( ) usually have only 5 string joints. They are very light and soft.
The "Christmas Ornaments" ( ) have a thread attached to their heads and are very light (stuffing: sheeps wool only), so that they can hang on the Christmas tree. They are usually quite small but I put great emphasis on details. However I use to replace some limbs, e.g. the snowman got little "twigs" instead of arms. Through their black glass eyes they can see, cotter pin joints enable them to move. Mostly they are made of mohair.
Here are some more hints in order to tell the original One-toe-bear apart from a copy.
Nearly all bruins (except those who have been sold before the first of March in 2003 or those who stay with me) get an own little certificate with their name on it tied round their neck. This certificate guarantees, that the teddybear is a one-of-a-kind and is designed and sewed by myself. To make it easier, I put a sign on my sites next to each bruin that receives such a certificate: NEW: Since August `04 my bruins got a new certificate, containing much more information about each little one. Now the certificate also tells about their size, weight, age and fur!

Additionally most of the bearsonalities, which are born after the first of March in 2003, get a little label that I sew in. These bears are marked by .
