"Sashiko"
February 17th 2011, 144 g, 15 cm (5.91 "), 7 joints

Here comes "Sashiko", my first Japanese style teddy bear. Just like a manga character, "Sashiko" has got large cute eyes and a huge head. His arms and legs, however, are small and short. Where traditional Japanese embroidery in dark blue and white meets manga, there is "Sashiko". I embroidered six patches and applied them. White embroidery frames his palms and toes which have been formed using trapunto technique. "Sashiko´s" fur is made of dark blue long pile mohair. Filled with mineral granules and sheep´s wool he is a heavy boy for his size.

"Sashiko" loves to drink green tea and prefers those Japanese tea pots for his tea. His favourite treats are all crackers and sweets you can get in asian shops. Of course, "Sashiko" is fond of Sushi and loves Jackie Chan movies as well as manga comics. This teddy bear wants to accompany you where ever you go and enjoys to cuddle up into the palm of your hand.

"Sashiko" now lives happily with my friend Julie in Erlangen.
