"Rainy Dayz" 1st June 2009, 291 g, 22 cm (8.66 "), 8 joints
Here comes "Rainy Dayz"! Summer in 2009 has been very rainy in Germany. One day when I walked home it was raining cats and dogs. 500 m from home I saw a little hooded creature sitting on the edge of the sidewalk near a gully, crying. I came closer and asked the little bruin what had happened. He said, he was playing with his paper boat in the rain. The rain had formed a rill next to the sidewalk and the boat had been swimming so nicely on the water. He had been running after it on the sidewalk, enjoying the rain. Then the boat approached the gully and it was going faster and faster. He tried to catch up and keep his boat from being gulped by the gully. Unfortunately the boat was faster and disappeared in the abyss. The poor sad bear was soaked just like me, so I invited him to come in and have a hot cup of tea to warm up. When he had his tea, I brought some paper and asked him if he wanted to make a new boat. Suddenly he lit up and started to make different boats decorating them with pens and glue. I gave him the name "Rainy Dayz", which he prefers to abbreviate to "RD". His name really suits him. His stringy fur looks wet, even when it is dry. Furthermore, the colour of his fur matches the grey rainy sky. The palms of his hands, his toes, his inner ears and one part of his hood are covered with a raincoat fabric (by Volcom). This fabric is dark grey with pale yellow stripes. His stitched and waxed nose matches the pattern of the raincoat fabric. Moreover his waxed claws have been stitched with the same pale yellow thread, too. Even the plaited cords of his hood are made of the same dark grey and pale yellow thread. His snout and the main part of his hood are made of very soft, light grey suede. His face, hands and feet have been needle sculpted. Since he is stuffed quite firmly, he can stand and sit very well. The steel pellets in belly and feet provide extra weight.
"RD" loves to sit at the window sill and watch the rain drops. He also likes to take a walk in the rain and jump over puddles. Hot tea and soups are his favourites - they can help you warm up when you are soaked after playing in the rain. He also likes cakes when they are still warm. "RD" does not quite understand why he should wipe his muddy paws after playing outside. So if you have muddy bear paw tracks on the floor, you know who is responsible. You might also have to remember him to wash his hands after eating chocolate (or one of his favourite meals). Otherwise you would have chocolate bear paw tracks everywhere. After all, he is a lovely little bear, who would do everything for a hug.
Now "RD" found his new home in Hambleton, England, enjoying Jo's homemade cookies.
