"Kiku"
March 19th 2011, 169 g, 16 cm (6.30 "), 8 joints

"Kiku" would like to introduce herself, she is my second Japanese style teddy bear. Her role models are manga characters, this is why "Kiku" has got large cute eyes with two coloured layers in the background and a big head. Her arms and legs however are quite short. "Kiku" comes in off-white and dark blue, the colours of traditional Japanese embroidery. I embroidered two patches, a dark blue one with off-white embroidery and an off-white patch with dark blue embroidery. The stitched motive is a chrysanthemum, the national flower of Japan, which is called "Kiku". Dark blue embroidery frames "Kiku´s" palms and toes which have been formed using trapunto technique. Her fur is an off-white sparce long pile mohair. Filled with mineral granules and sheep´s wool, she is quite heavy for her size.

"Kiku" is fond of flowers and silk. Geishas amaze her and she loves blooming almond trees in spring as well as blooming chrysanthemums in autumn. "Kiku´s" favourite sweet is marzipan and she likes green tea. "Kiku" is a good listener and would love to accompany you when you are doing your gardening and in every other situation in your life.
